Dog Training That Works for Every Dog
From Independent Akitas to Eager Labs
I started Titan Training Academy because I couldn't find training methods that worked for American Akitas. Most advice online was designed for eager-to-please breeds. It didn't work for Atlas - a dog who thinks before he acts and won't do anything just because you asked nicely.
So I learned the hard way. I made mistakes, found what worked, and refined an approach that actually gets results with independent, strong-willed dogs. If it works for an Akita, it works for any breed.
Today I run Titan Training Academy as a proper dog training school from the East Midlands - offering 1-to-1 in-person sessions across the East Midlands, online video coaching, and a self-paced training app. I'm currently enrolled on the Primitive & Spitz Breeds Behaviourists Course with Yume Canine Academy, so the methodology keeps evolving as I learn more about the breeds I specialise in.
These methods aren't theory - they're proven daily with real dogs in real homes. Whether you have an eager puppy, a rescue dog with an unknown history, or a multi-dog household to manage, you're getting training systems that work in the real world.
The four Akitas behind the methodology
Every technique I teach has been pressure-tested on these four. If it holds up with them, it will hold up with your dog.
Atlas
The calm, confident one
Thinks before he acts. Won't do anything just because you asked nicely - you have to earn it. Taught me that Akitas respect leadership, not bribery.
Zeus
The alpha
Biggest in the litter, dominant, strong-willed. Brilliant at following directions once he trusts the structure. Taught me that clear leadership isn't harsh, it's kind.
Shango
The social butterfly
Energetic, friendly, a little ADHD. Loves everyone, struggles with impulse control. Taught me that exercise plans and structure matter as much as obedience drills.
Rhea
The rescue
Anxious, chaotic, eager to please but the hardest to train. Rewrote everything I thought I knew about consistency, patience, and how long behaviour change actually takes.
Currently training with Yume Canine Academy
I'm currently enrolled on the Primitive & Spitz Breeds Behaviourists Course with Yume Canine Academy - an FCI-registered kennel (Išsipildžiusi Svajonė) and specialist course provider for primitive breed behaviour, run by Hasan Yiğit Aktaş.
Dog training is a field where the best trainers never stop being students. Spitz and primitive breeds have quirks that generalist courses miss entirely, so I sought out a course run by people who live and breathe these breeds. You can verify the course directly on their Instagram page.
Based in the East Midlands, travelling where needed
In-person sessions across the East Midlands are included in the standard session fee - that covers Leicester, Nottingham, Derby and the surrounding area. Happy to travel further for spitz-breed owners who can cover travel costs. Online sessions are available anywhere in the world.
